Meet your guide and driver in Hanoi in the morning and travel to Ninh Binh Province. This area is often called “Halong Bay on land” because of its similar beautiful limestone formations rising from green rice fields and rivers. After a two-and-a-half-hour drive, you’ll arrive in Gia Van District. Switch to a bicycle and ride through rice fields to Van Long reservoir area. Visit a local village, learn about farming activities like planting and harvesting, and try your hand at traditional cooking.
Then, head to a local family’s house for a cooking demonstration and enjoy a meal with them. In the afternoon, take a boat ride in Van Long Nature Reserve, with its scenic wetlands and rolling hills. Capture the beauty with your camera.
Stay overnight in Ninh Binh.
Please note:
Northern Vietnam has two main rice-growing seasons: Feb – Jun and Jul – Sep. Other farming activities happen from Oct to Feb.
Be ready for rain or heat in the summer; bring a hat and stay hydrated. -

You’ll leave Ninh Binh early to drive to Halong, a coastal port that’s about four hours away. Once you arrive, you’ll hop on a boat for a cruise in Halong Bay. This beautiful area has around 2,000 islands and towering limestone cliffs covered in greenery.
During the cruise, you’ll stop at Dao Tung Lam Bay for a tasty lunch with traditional Vietnamese dishes. Then, you’ll sail to Ga Choi Island, known for its shape resembling two roosters fighting. Take in the stunning views of the limestone formations and visit Paradise Cave, a large cavern with impressive rock formations.
Relax on the boat’s deck, enjoy some cocktails, and soak in the scenery before heading back to Tuan Chau Marina. Your journey back to Hanoi will get you there in the early evening.
Note:
Plans may change due to weather conditions.

2 May 2024 ★★★★★What a great way to see more of Vietnam! Our tour guide Linh looked after us well and knew a lot about Vietnam. The bike ride was tough for us beginners but we managed to finish it. The team was always patient and made sure we were safe. Big thanks to Linh and the team for going the extra mile! If you get to go with this team ask them for food recommendations!

5 May 2024 ★★★★★We spent 12 days with Amazing Bike Tours from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh via Battambang. Our tour was perfectly tailored to our route and physical condition and on the last day, we were safely transported to our beach accommodation in Sihanoukville. The organization was flawless from start to finish. The accommodation was also comfortable, allowing us to rest well after eventful days. The tour provided great value for money. The experiences were unique and could fill two vacation reports! The bikes were perfectly adjusted to our needs, with well-maintained gears and brakes. If there was a minor issue, the guide promptly addressed it. The minivan support was modern and very comfortable. The driver was excellent and we felt safe! Besides the visual impressions, we learned a lot about the country and its people.
